The Manager will drive engagement with Scouting across South Australia by developing innovative youth leadership and personal development programs that involve non-members and enhance community appreciation. This role will champion leadership and personal development opportunities for young people both within and outside of Scouting. 

It’s all about offering the broader community the strengths of our Scouting program to make a difference in the lives of young people who don’t traditionally engage with Scouts. We could focus on playgroups, scouting for home-schooled students, and collaborating with other organisations, funding bodies, and much more. 

This is a volunteer role open to current members of Scouts SA and other volunteers in the broader community.

 

Key responsibilities

  • Establish and lead teams to design, trial, and implement dynamic, youth-centric programs.
  • Review local, national, and global leadership development programs to shape a forward-thinking model for SA.
  • Develop a flagship youth development program for Scouts SA and the wider community.
  • Build strategic relationships with all levels of government and community partners to support youth initiatives.
  • Ensure youth voices are integral to all projects.
  • Lead discussions and knowledge sharing within the Scouting community on youth development and leadership trends.

Required skills

  • Support the delivery of theImagine 2030 
  • Knowledge of/willingness to understand the Scouts Australia Youth Program.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Passion for youth leadership and community engagement.
  • Familiarity with contemporary trends in youth development and program design.
