SCUBA Training – Open Water SCUBA Course

Scouts SA has it’s own inhouse SCUBA Training Team who will be delivering an Open Water SCUBA Course in January. We not only deliver an International SCUBA Certification recognised all over the world, we also deliver the OAS Stage 7 requirements as well as VET training if you are working towards a Certificate II or higher. Along with Scouts Australia NAAF Safe Participant SCUBA certification.

We train 4 students per Instructor so we can give better attention to delivering the required level of skills. All of the equipment required for the course is provided by the Scout Sub Aqua Group and included in the fee.

You will be required to:

• Complete a SDI Medical Document. If you answer yes to any of the questions, you will need to attend a SCUBA diving doctor to have a medical to clear you for the course.
• Swim 200 meters and tread water for 10 mins.

The course will entail:

• Online Training being completed before the course, at your pace.
• Day 1 Review of online training and fitting of SCUBA equipment.
• Day 2 Training in a heated inside pool for the Skills Training
• Day 3 Open Water Skills Training and Assessment. Dives 1 and 2
• Day 4 Open Water Skills Training and Assessment. Dives 3 and 4
• Then return to Dive Centre to complete the paperwork and Log Book.

There is the option to extend your experience by joining Venturers at the Summer Snorkelling Camp being help near Rapid Bay and undertaking 4 more Open Water SCUBA Dives as well a at least 1 night dive. The cost to be confirmed.
