Encounter New Friends, Encounter New Adventure

We are pleased to announce that Encounter 2022 (for Joey Scouts and Cub Scouts) has been confirmed and will be proceeding at Port Elliot Showgrounds.

The event title is Encounter, as not only are we in close proximity the Encounter Bay area, the Cubs and Joeys will be ‘Encountering’ new friends, a new region, experiences and adventure.

Please keep an eye out for more information to come early in the new year.

Event Registration and Information

Registration is now open for  Encounter 2022.

Joey and Cub participants should register with your Scout Group who will be able to bulk register participants.

If your Group is unable to do this please contact us (email above) to get further instructions.

Youth Panel for Encounter 2022

We’re excited to have the following Youth Members representing Joeys and Cubs who will attend Encounter 2022 as our ‘Youth Panel’ – sharing their thoughts and ideas with our Event Team on how Encounter 2022 should look.

Thank you to Evan, Noah, Zara-Rose, Mila and Matthew for your help and ideas to make Encounter 2022 a great event for everyone attending.

Youth Positions (Scout, Venturer & Rover) – Encounter 2022

We have the following roles at the 2022 Encounter Joey and Cub Event.

These positions are open to individuals in the Scout, Venturer or Rover section and who would be available for the event on 18, 19 & 20 November at Port Elliot.

 

Event Photographer:

This role is for a youth member who is interested in photography.

This person would need their own transport for the weekend (this may be a parent) to access the off site activities and take photos of the event to be used in the closing ceremony and to showcase the event on Facebook and other marketing materials.

It is preferred that you have your own equipment. If you do not have access to the equipment please indicate that when applying and we can look into supplying the equipment for the event.

It is encouraged that those interested look at setting an SIA goal out of this opportunity.

Drone Operator and Spotter:

During the event there are aspects that we would like to capture by Drone.

Video of the opening and closing ceremony and then the youth on the train along with participating in other activities over the weekend.

The Drone Operator and Spotter would need to understand the roles and legal requirements for drone use. They would need their own transport (this may be a parent) for the weekend to access the off site activities and take imagery of the event to be used in the closing ceremony and to showcase the event on Facebook and other marketing materials.

DJ – Saturday night Disco

The Youth Panel have decided to have a Disco on the Saturday night.

We are looking for a youth member who might be a budding DJ to provide the Joey and Cub friendly music and DJ the event on Saturday night.

It is preferred that you have your own equipment, including lighting and smoke machine etc.. If you do not have access to the equipment please indicate that when applying and we can look into supplying the equipment for the event.

It is encouraged that those interested look at setting an SIA goal out of this opportunity.
