Work continues to implement Consent2Go as the new system for managing member medical information and activity permissions, replacing Operoo. This change is being progressed collaboratively across several Branches using a system already widely used in schools.
There has been a delay in finalising the transition. As a result, Leaders will need to use PDF or paper-based medical forms and permission processes in the short to medium term while we transition away from Operoo.
Consent2Go is a parent/guardian-driven system in which families are responsible for maintaining accurate, up-to-date medical and care information for their youth members. Once implemented, it will support structured health records, electronic activity permissions, payments, and secure communication through web and mobile apps for parents/guardians and adult volunteers.
Please note that medical data cannot be migrated from Operoo into Consent2Go due to privacy requirements. All medical information will need to be re-entered by parents/guardians once the system is live.
The platform uses school-based terminology just like Operoo (e.g., student/participant and staff) at this stage (this will evolve over time).
Further guidance and updates will be provided as implementation progresses. Thank you for your continued patience and flexibility during this transition.
What Leaders need to do now
-
Transition to using PDF or paper processes (Y4 and A4 forms) for medical information, permissions, and attendance for all activities until further notice.
-
Do not rely on Operoo – it will be turned off shortly and should not be used.
-
Ensure paper medical forms are up to date for all youth members, particularly for camps, overnight activities, and higher-risk events.
-
Store paper records securely and take the required medical information with you for activities in line with normal privacy practices.
-
Advise parents/guardians that a new system (Consent2Go) is coming and that medical information will need to be re-entered when they are invited.
-
Delay any local electronic workarounds (e.g., new online forms or apps) unless specifically approved.
Thank you for your understanding, and please keep watch for further updates via official Branch communications as the rollout progresses.
